Howdy people,

Gonna book my motor in for a service soon, Audi quoted around £200 ish, he said work was Oil , Oil filter, air filter, pollen filter, and all over check ?

I thought this was expensive, so I thought I would ask your opinion.

I know a non audi mechanic who can do the job, I wanted to know what parts would I need.

What oil do I use, I want the best.
And where can I source a good oil filter, pollen filter and airfilter.
And is there anything else I should get checked or changed?

The car is Audi a4 2001 TDI 1.9 130.

My old man keeps saying I should take it too audi.. your advise is appreciated.

Sounds about right for a VAG basic service from a dealer. Had mine done just before the warranty ended.

Which means I have not had the benefit of servicing mine myself yet but I am sure most decent car accessory shops will do stock non OEM parts. I have always done this for cars (non VAG) I have previously owned.

Can anyone recommend what is the best oil to use for the TDI 130 1.9?

if your car is a pd engine , there is a special oil you will need cleverly named pd oil . any motor factors should stock it.
