Just got caught in the floods in a very wet North Yorks and the belt that drives the alternator / power steering etc etc has snapped. Is it terminally ill or will replacing the belt get it going again...?

Symptoms..... First Power Steering failed and battery light came on... next the heater stopped blowing hot air.... then the engine temp increased way past what it normally runs at.... then engine started sounding like a bag of spanners....!

Should I start looking for a replacement motor...? :aargh4::aargh4::aargh4::mad::mad::1zhelp:

Well a noisy engine dosent sound good! If the engine has overheated it could cause damage to the head, valves, glow plugs + a host of other things. Obviously dont try & drive it and get it to a cheap local garage to get checked out. Expect a good labour bill for whipping the head off and having a look whats been damaged if anything. Fingers crossed you havent damaged the water pump, power steering pump, radiator.....................

Get it to a garage and good luck with it!
