aircon wheres the switch?

hi all,

We have a T4 van lhd 2.4d 1993.

Today i was laying under the engine trying to check out a glow plug fault when i hit my head on something.

The something that i hit my head on is interesting because it appears to be an aircon pump(did not know air con was fitted to car) .On further investigation it is connected to a radiator in front of the cooling system radiator. Also there appears to be a dryer bottle??? in the pipe work.

Inside the car there does not appear to be a switch to turn aircon on??
would the aircon come on with blower or should there be a switch?

Any help or advise would be appreciated

Hi There should be two press button switches one for AC and one for fresh and recirculating air on the heater control unit.

inside the van all i have is four speed blower switch and just the normal slides that control hot and cold or where the air goes no other switches!!!
