Hi

I have a budget of up to £45k and quite fancy getting an S5. My last Audi was a 52 plate 3.0 V6 A4 Quatt which I loved as it drove like a go-kart and looked great. I've yet to have a test drive of an S5 but I was wondering if there is anything I shoud look out for, or am I going to fall in love with it and chuck my money at the sales guy.

Alternatively, is there some other motor (coupe with 4 seats minimum and a kick-*** engine) that I should consider.

Any help gratefully received!!

Cheers
Andy

Go for it! my sisters boyfriend has one! Hes had it since oct and what a motor! he does loads and loads of miles (think he has done 13k in it) and he loves driving it! I was lucky enough to have a spin in it and would love one as i am a big audi fan!

is the 335i a viable coupe alternative? better car in some ways. I do think however the A5 is stunning, characterful engine and sound ownership proposition like other A4s/A5s. If you spec a S5 up enough you might enter M3 zone too..,

Was at my local ******* drooling over S5s this weekend. They are stunning but I remember 5th gear found the 335i faster round their track. The power gap was made up for by better feedback and flexibility on the limit.

The 335i only beat the S5 by 6/100 of a second in the dry and they commented that had it been wet the S5 would have trounced the Beamer !!

The S5 really is a beautiful motor but if I had that money to spend personally it'd be an RS4 all day long. ;)

The RS4 is cheaper, but it is an old model. I'd be looking at the new M3.

Got to say, I'm not that keen on the new M3, I've fitted trackers on a few of them, they're a beautiful motor but the Audi's are so much less in your face.

I am having mine enhanced by REVO this weekend

They claim nearly 1 second off the 0-60 which would bring it down to around 4.2 seconds, removing the speed limiter set at 155mph - should be somewhere near 180mph. The most significant change will be in fuel economy with long distances showing the best improvement.

Can't wait to get it back on Saturday.

Check out the A5/S5 owners club HERE (http://www.a5oc.com/forums/#). It's full of good info.

You won't regret getting the S5, trust me.
