Hi All, I have a 1997 Golf Mk3 GL Estate Auto with Power steering which has developed an interesting "clunck" while turning the steering past a certain point. It occurs while turning the wheel in either direction. It also seems to occur at several places while rotating the steering wheel. It would strike me that it's a steering rack problem but I wondered if any of you more experienced people had any other thoughts.

Also, the auto shoe adjusters on the rear break drums seem not to be working....slack springs????

regards

TheProducer.

OK fixed 5he problem myself....sort of!!

After adjusting the height adjuster on the sterring wheel the problem dissapears. OK technically it's still there, just not at the lowered position I remember putting the steering wheel in not too much time before I noted the problem appearing. Not the steering rack..more an isse with the column I feel!
