im in the prosses of putting a 81 coupe back together! the only thing im looking for is a carb! any ideas where to get one? ive been told its a 1.9, and im not sure that they did one! the other things are ive been offered a 2.2 injection out of a mk2. is the power gains\fuel consumption worth the swap? one last thing, are the non sunroof modles rare? as thats what ive got! thank for listening!

There were two engines classed as a 1.9 but yours will be a 1921 cc WN. The carb is now obsolete from Audi and Pierburg but you should still be able to get the Weber conversion (a 34 ICT I think) if you ask Webcon to build one up for you. The nice thing about that kit was it featured an auto choke which was rare for Weber.
