Hey all,

was unlucky enough to have my clutch die on me on xmas day on my way home - had a strong burning smell (wouldnt say it was rubber...) and no drive.

Got a new clutch fitted yesterday at a local garage - the car now drives, however im still frequently getting the same burning smell, and the revs feel seem to be "slipping" - the revs act like they would if i had depressed the clutch and pressed the gas (it shoots all the way up).

Its a Mk3 Golf Ryder, L reg so 94 i think 1.4 engine, any help appreciated!!!!

Thanks!

Best thing to do is take it back to the garage that did the job mate as its under warranty with them ;)

Try a new clutch cable, they suffer terribly on this model because of the self adjuster mechanism built into cable.
Good luck.
