Hi guys,

just wondering how difficult this job is - main dealer or your average garage? Myself?

How much should I expect to pay?

Thanks,

Mark

It is incredibly difficult to find the belt as it hasn't got one.

ok timing chain then....

Or has it not got one of those either?

Following a bit more digging, have established it is a timing chain.

Next question:

ESP light doesn't seem to have any relation to anything. Comes on intermittently and doesn't go out unless I switch the engine off. How much is a HALDEX service? Am hoping it is just a sensor or a switch. Presumably a dealer type affair?

Any ideas?

Haldex service is not that expencive to do, but you have got to have a tool to remove the filter from the the rear diff. the oil has to be changed every 20,000 miles and the filter every 40,000, but just do them both at the same time, as the filter is only £4 or so.

is that what would be causing my ESP light to go on and off?

Thanks :D

doesn't the esp light come on when it activates, or is it the warning lamp :dunno:

Get a fault code reader on it and it should become clear.:D

that would not make the esp play up, you have got a fault on the system

My ESp light comes on if there is any sign of damp on the Ignition leads and If I go through a big puddle the engine management light comes on and if I go through a ford ..............It all conks out.............Mine doesn't like the wet, Time for a new set of lead I fink.
