2005 Audi A4 1.8T - Problem with cigarette lighter

I just bought this car and my cell phone charger fits loosely in the cigarette lighter socket, so it does not work. Can anyone help me?

There doesn't seem to be much standardisation between cigarette lighter sockets and 3rd party mating plugs. Consequently, its always a bit hit-and-miss when using 3rd party accessories. You have a number of possible remedies, including:

1. Exchange your charger for one that fits the socket.

2. Change the plug for one that fits.

3. Try using an extension cable.

Any of these solutions will require some trial and error, or luck.

I have a cupboard full of discarded plugs, collected over several years, as a result of similar situations.
