GOLF MK 4 DOOR LATCH PROBLEM

First of all the vehicle is a MARK 4 1999 V Plate Golf GT TDi 3 Door .
Few days ago I pushed passenger seat forward and the headrest bumped on the dash . Since this time the Airbag warning light has been on . But now today the Drivers door has decided not to close .. When Mean close, it does close but the latch does`nt engage therefore the door is free ...


Plz anyone got any ideas what this might be as it looks like a major job gettin the latch mech out of the door ... Much appreciated .. Newbie ..

Anyone any ideas ??? im off work for 2days now so it looks like its coming apart ... im 90% think its the door catch itself thats buggered ?? anyone wanna back me up ?

Problem solved ... New door catch/latch £91 at local VW dealers ...
