Hi I have been looking for a mk1 gti and I have found one in my price range and the guy is willing to px with my 206!! The ony problem is that it states that it was manufactured in 1990?? I thought the mk1 was only produced until 1984?? I would be verry grateful if anyone with a bit more knowlage of these cars could possibly take a look at the link and give me there opinions?

Thanks in advance Tony

Tony

It's because it's a cabby.

Tin tops ended in 1984 (save for the Citigolf that can still be bought abroad).

There wasn't a production Mk2 cabby, so you can see Mk1 shaped cabby's up until around 1992, when the Mk3's came out.

I've just bought my first Mk1 - 1983 CL:D

that is a really nice one, Tony.

I have a 1.8 GTI MK1 Cabrio and unfortunately has been neglected over the years, but nothing that a bit of blood sweat and tears can't fix.

I absolutely love mine and would not swap it for the world. It doesn't have to be summer to put the hood down either!

to the post starter, did you buy that cabby? it looks a right cracker, and i bet it goes some with that engine, glad to see the arbs and suspension has seen attention spent too it, bargain at that price too...

personally i wouldnt buy a cabbie but ive never like cabriolets but mk1 golfs tug my heartstrings regardless haha
