Hello,
My new B6 Sport 170 DPF Manual Estate, has a strange habit; Why is it that sometimes the diesel rattle is more noticable regardless of temperature.
Even in the same day there are times when you would be pushed to tell if it is a diesel at all and yet sometimes it sounds like an old 150k Transit !!:D
I know that Diesels are apt to be noisey when they are cold - my 100 PS B5 does it.
The B6 does it sometimes regardless whether it is cold or hot.
On daily commutes of say 15 - 20 miles a day, it will do it roughly once a week.
The only thing I can think of is that there is some sort of cleaning cycle to do with the DPF fitted to the 170ps.
In all other respects it drives exactly the same. :approve:
Can someone explain why the engine goes through this noisy phase ?:1zhelp:
Regards
