'Howling' noise MK3. What is it?

Hi, my car has developed this noise at 25-50 mph. It is like a 'howling'. In a rear wheel drive car I'd say it was the diff. Is it the same for front wheel drive or should I be looking for something else? Any suggested fixes?:1zhelp:

Sounds to me like its either a wheel bearing which is most probable or a diff whine ??
