Hi all, first post here.

I'm pulling out the old 4cyl petrol from my LT, and can't get to the o/s mounting bracket to get the bloody nut off it. It has a little roof/housing above it attached to the block, and none of my socket tools can get in there since this housing prevents getting 90 degree angle on the nut with my tools. It's the last bit to get out - help from anyone who has done this before or has a bright idea would be greatly appreciated. Is there a magic tool I need? Also note that I can't remove the manifold until I have gotten the engine out - again there simply isn't enough space to get in there to take the last two nuts off of it.

Some pics and video to aid my explanation:

A million thanks to anyone that can help out.

Dont fancy that job.....

I could do it with a grinder :) Although it looks like you'd struggle to get a spanner in there never mind anything else...

Good luck

On my 85 LT there is a similar problem getting to the nut on one of the engine mountings, the way to get the engine out is to undo the nuts and bolts securing the rubber mounting to the chassis and lift the engine out with the rubber mounting still attached.

If that isn’t possible it may be possible to undo it with a ‘crows foot wrench’ but they may be insufficient clearance between the nut and the side of the casting for access.
