Cambelt Plate

Evening all,

Just been outside all day working on my lovely mk2 :-) but i have discovered the cause of the rather horrible rattling noise coming from the engine.
It would seem that the plate that sits behind the cam belt on the engine side is loose and shaking about.
I am wondering am i able to get a new one of these or if not where can i get the bolts beacuse mine seem to be non existant.

hi - i assume you are talking about the heat reflector near the downpipes. i had the same problem with mine. i leant right over and saw that the nut was corroded so i couldnt tighten it up. instead, i got it up on the ramps, bent the shield back from underneath and wedged a washer in the gap. i then bent the shield back so there was no movement.

mine has been fine ever since.
