One of the hinges on my glovebox lid has snapped for no reason?

I have removed the whole assembly, but how do you remove the pins that hold the lid to the glovebox assembly? Or do I have to purchase a whole new assembly?

Also the damper piston thingy appears to be a little stiff, would you recommend replacing this or are they quite stiff?

hey if you need a glovebox, their is a breakers yard near me, breaking an audi s4 saloon b5 model, i think he would charge no more than £10-£15, so depending where you are, i could send it to you and you would have a new one, let me know if this helps

I have found out how to remove the pins that hold the lid to the glove box.

Tools - Wire cutters, 8mm socket hammers, dust sheet, floor!!

1. Remove the glove box using 8mm socket.

2.Turn glovebox upside down on the floor using the sheet to protect it.

3. In grab the neck of each pin under the head with the wire cutters.

4. Using a few well placed strikes on the cutters pivot point with the hammer, knock the pins free. They are knurled on the ends to hold them in.

This took me 20mins start to finish and saved me the £60 labour charge at Audi.

Any quesitons email me. :biglaugh: off for a beer now! :beerchug:
