Hi there,

Had my service and I am being recommended to replace my timing belt, plus the other belts as well. My car is 02 TT Roadster with 21,900 miles on the clock.

Firstly, I have checked the forum and there seems to be a concensus that the timing belt should be replaced every 4 years, is this correct ? If so, would I have expected this to have been done or mentioned during the last service that Audi reformed? And do Audi do this before selling a car on?

I am being quoted £390 to change all belts and the water pump or £260 for just the timing belt. Should I get them all changed at once or only replace the timing belt?

Thanks for your help in advance,
Dave

4 years or 60k miles.
I had the dealer change the belts before I brought the wifes TT

It iscommon to change the water pump with the belt as to change requires removal of the belt. That said they normally are good for over 80K, which is when yours will need doing next time.

As for wether you should change the belt now, no issue, do it as if the belt fails the damage will be in the thousands !
