Problem with my polo gti can anyone help

Polo Gti 2001

Following fault found?

17748 - camshaft position sensor (G40)/ engine speed sensor (G28). Incorrect correlation P1340 - 35.00--

What does this mean and how can I fix it?

Hi there I must ask, have you had the cambelt renewed recently ?
If this is the case the timing may be out slightly.
Alternatively the cambelt tensioners outer plastic casing (on top of the metal roller section). may have broken/worn which knocks the timing out slightly.
The sensors are pretty reliable so failure is rare. The best thing to do is to have it checked via guided fault finding at a vw main dealer, Probabely cost you about 100 pounds to be diagnosed, but at least you will know for sure.
