Random electrical problem

Hi peeps
on the verge of ragging the tank on my old 93 T4 2.4D
is there any experts out there that have heard of this annoying problem ?:
The instrument cluster fuse keeps blowing when the ignition is switched on 7 hence the battery then wont charge - have checked around the harness from fusebox to dash binnacle & tried removing all the wires that link the 2 yet the fuse still blows - anybody any ideas as i'm getting desperate ? - cheers G

Sounds like u trapped some wires when either removing or refitting the tank,

Try unpluging the wires from the tank, it may stop blwing, or check wiring around that area :)

Cheers for that - checked it out but all was ok - found the fault it was glove box light! a wire had come off (+ve) & gone to earth ! - however it seems tohave caused anothe problem - i now have no power to the instrument binnacle ??????/ - so still cant use the van nlss i carry a spare battery
