Hi
I wonder if anyone can help? I have an Audi workshop manual and it mentions that the factory central locking/alarm controller has the ability to provide an audible beep when the alarm is armed and disarmed, however as this option is now illegal in germany it does not provide the necessary controller program code to activate it, any one have any idea what the code might be please.

the standard code for my vehicle is 13130, also anyone know if i put the wrong code in using the vag-com software can i still access the controller to put the original code back.

any advice or info would be much appreciated.

Hi
I found the required code to enable a discreet alarm tone when the alarm is set. This is particularly handy as it allows you to walk away from the vehicle without having to visually check if you pressed the correct button and locked/ set the alarm. Typical Audi thinking the Alarm does not 'chirp' when the alarm is de-activated/unset, this is also a good enviromental concept as you will not wake your friends neighbours when you decide to go home!

I have to thank www.ross-tech.com (http://www.ross-tech.com) as thats where I found the info;

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/index.html

And this specific page for Audi A4 owners

http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=5279

The code required is: +1024 to activate the feature and -1024 to de-activate.

See the web links above for explanations on how to use the code(s)

Other handy info you might find useful:

Vag-Com shareware software required or similar to interigate and program the central locking controller

A suitable Serial/Usb data cable KKL, I found mine on ebay for as little as £24.00 delivered.

Also very handy a workshop manual, as Haynes do not do one for the 2000 on Audi A4 range. I also managed to find on ebay, a guy selling the full dealer DVD disk Elsawin 2006, which covers all past and present Audi's even the New Q7. The DVD (2 disk set) is awesome it is the same as the one used by Audi-dealership. This was a £10 note delivered from ebay.

Remember as the forum admin mentions any modifications can be dangerous if you do not take care and do your home work. Any recommendations/suggestions mentioned in this post are carried out at your own risk.

I hope someone out there finds this info useful

Good luck and thanks for reading.

Hi
You can download the shareware VAG-COM software from here:

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/download/archives.html

It shows the older version(s) of VAG-COM, as the new versions only support Ross-Tech own hardware interfaces.

Please read the FAQ files as you may fnd you have to use the serial connection version even though you may have a third party USB connection type interface.

They say its slower, but it worked fine for me

Hope this helps
