Heater problems

Hi all,

Just after a bit of advice.

A couple of days ago the heater on my Mk3 Golf GTI 8v stopped blowing quite as hard as it used to. It soon stopped blowing altogether. I changed the fuse just in case but no luck. Tonight taking the girlfriend xmas shopping (aaaaah) I get onto the motorway and get into 5th and the thing starts blowing again! After a gruelling visit to the shops I turn the key and the thing is buggered again!

After some reading, I'm thinking perhaps something strange might be happening with the brushes?

Anyone have any suggestions?

could be a knackered heater blower. Have you checked the pollen filter? If this is really badly clogged it might be worth replacing it, might work.

Cheers for the speedy response. I'll check the pollen filter tomorrow, hadn't thought of that.
