Touareg Indicator Problem

My Touareg indicator lights on the outside of vehicle all work including hazards, however the Dashboard indicators do not light up. The relay also appears to be silent

you may just of answered you own question - relay or flasher unit. Thy may be the same thing.

Does the hazard button flash at all?
