TDI Fuel Filter (earlier type)

My A4 1.9TDI is an early 2000 year and the fuel filter looks as if you spin it off to change it. I`m assuning you spin it off, prime new one and spin back on like an oil filter. Grateful for any tips.

There are 2 differant filters on these engines, need your engine code

Whoops, it`s an AHU.

Sorry, the AHU can have either of these filters,you can see the differance in, one has, on top a cooler with attached water and fuel hoses,this filter is removed by first removing the bolt in the senter of the cooler,and pushing the cooler to the side.The other one has only fuel hoses connected to it, on this one you loosen the top with a 17mm spanner,before loosening the bracket which holds the filter in place
