Mk3 Golf 1.8 single point injection, ran fine 80 mile trip up motorway coming off slip road stalled and stalled again several times in next 20 mins , started again each time after 1 min any ran fine,any ideas?

Check the ECU power up relay because it cracks internally and when hot it shuts the power to ecu and when cold works ok and does not sets any fault codes. Do a search as someone else had the same problem a few days ago.

if you have a 109 relay and a 167 check both these

Try also the 30 relay part number 165906381 that passes the lamda signal to the ecu. Google the part number and you can see lots of Golf owners have had this problem. I bought one today from the VW main dealer for £11. The parts man said it was a common problem.:Blush:

If it cuts out under power...ie while you have the gas pedal pressed it's an ignition problem, or fuel supply, if the problem occurs while the throttle isn't pressed, ie tick over, or powering off...it could well be an air leak. If you have single point injection, check the throttle body mount. It's made of rubber and they split!
