Replacement wing mirror indicator

I need to replace a broken wing mirror indicator on my 56 Passat.

Does anyone know how to get at the screws that hold the indicator in place.

Hopefully someone will be along to tell you, but if not it might be worth posting on some of the other forums here because I'm thinking the mirror is a common VAG part.

From the above link it looks as thought the whole cap has to come off first. Pic 2.2 appears to show the indicator (or blinker as they call it) attached by two clips hidden underneath the cap itself.
