GTI Cam + Ported-Polished

Would it be possible to stick a GTI 8v cam in a MK2 1.6 driver and if so what sort of gains would i be looking at getting with the head ported and polished + webber carb + gti down pipe and custom exhaust with a nice cold air intake?
