mk3 tdi power problem

Hi new here got a golf mk3 tdi 1997 car problem i have it when on motorway or accelerate hard the car drops all power and feals flat tern ignition off and back on and power come back to engine like boost cut or some think.
any one have a clue:confused:

i have a similar problem at the moment...loss of power as if the turbo has cut off then it just picks up again....but also getting alot of smoke out of the rear when i accelerate.....

some advice is leading towards turbo but when you fully hit exhuast in nuetral when standing the smoke goes which i was told means not the turbo....

dont trust any garages in london so kinda waiting for the problem to show itself unless i get some sturdy advice
