I'm about to trade a Passat B6 estate in and have removed an aftermarket stereo from the dashboard (a Blaupunkt Woodstock 54). When I did this I have ended up with a random blue wire which isn't connected into the multi-socket - instead it was connected to the 'CAN BUS' wire of the socket plugged into the back of the Woodstock.

Any idea what this is? It comes from the lower right side of the stereo aperture. It's not the DAB aerial. The suggestion is that it comes from the ignition and if so I need to connect it back into the multi-socket somewhere.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the multi-socket?

The Woodstock doesn't have a CAN bus connection, are you sure you've read that correctly ? It may be a connection for the speed pulse, or FM aerial amplifier connection.

A picture might help, if you can.

An earthing wire?
