Steering Judder / Twitch Intermittent

We have a 1995 Vento Diesel. It has an intermittent steering judder where the steering twitches suddenly to the left hand side. Sometimes once or twice sometimes for a minute or so and then it will stop, sometimes starting again at random periods of time. It seems only to happen on a long run. When the judder/twitch starts, stopping accelerating seems to stop it temporarily.

It first started about a year ago, since then we have taken it to the garage twice, for this problem. We have had the tracking done, and wishbone bushes.

And now the problem is back and once has been accompanied by a knocking under the floor in the front.

Any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.
