Hi again, my GTI is now running a bit better. But it failed its emisions test, I have replaced the Air filter, O2 sensor, and just done an oil and filter change. The temperature guage is at its lowest point, am i right in saying if the temp guage isnt working then the auto choke will stay on, therfore giving me a very rich fuel mixture? Thats why its failing? The engine takes a while to warm up, but it is a pretty old car (104000m) but when warm (oil temp 82C or 195F) it will blow warm through the heater. I have tested the temp sender and its fine (Tried a new one, still no movement on guage) Please help as i really like this little beast, it has an E2 engine if thats any help to anyone. Cheers.
