Tdi - no power

Just got a 1994 Audi 80 Tdi 166k on the clock - same as VW golf mk3 engine

It seems to have very little power once under load, when you head up a hill at speed (60-70) the engine feels like it has no power. Even when you floor the throttle, the revs don't move - feels like the engine switches into a 'safe' mode?

Is this the turbo, air flow meter, any ideas please?

hi, i had the same problem with my golf tdi mk3. before you spend money on air flow meters etc try changing the in line diesel filter. it worked for my 215,000 mile golf!!
