A4 Avant Water Inside Tailgate

Hi, does anyone have experience of this problem?

Water seems to collect in the cavity at the bottom of the tailgate which then empties over me and the inside of the car when the tailgate is opened.

So far I've tried sealing the 'holes' at the top where the wires go through and the areas around the lock, handle and number plate lights.

Perhaps I'm going at this the wrong way, is it like the doors where water can drain through? If so, where are the drains?

You have to check the drainage holes, these are along the bottom seam of the tail gate There are not many places water can get in, you mentioned the wires this is the most likely place,it does not take much of a hole.Otherwise,your number plate,rear washer,rear window.

I had a look for the drain holes but couldn't locate them. The water seems to come through 2 large holes with a plastic bump stop and the lock but I'm pretty sure these parts are not for drainage.

I'll have another look for the real drains.
