Hello All
any ideas what the best way is to get the aluminium roof rails on my avant back to their sparkling best?

A good cleanser will be what is needed to get to the deep ingrained contamination that may be dulling them.
A great value one is JEFF'S Werkstatt Prime Acrylic. It is superb and also lays a layer of sealant protection too. I use it on paint, wheels, interior and exterior windows, exterior plastics. It gives a deep cleanse and leaves a super slick finish too. A couple of hits on really grimy areas can be useful. Apply and buff after affected area has been washed. Very versatile product at £16 (+£3 postage) for 500ml. You don't need to use lots of it in any way and is best applied with a microfibre applicator and buffed over with a clean microfibre cloth.
There are a few great cleansers out there but the JEFFS lays down protection too.
