key reprogramming sequence please - after changing battery

Hi Guys!

I need your expert advice and sound knowledge on this one! The key to my Seat Leon (2001 1.9TDi) has ceased to work following the changing of its battery (poor thing). I only have one key, so would someone out there in VW Land have the neccessary guidance for me to be able to enjoy my Leon once again?

Hi,

Unfortunately you do need the second key to synchronise the system again. Don't know how you will manage to do it if you dont have it! Anyway, procedure is as follows:

Complete the following within 30 seconds:
Using key not fitted with remote, switch on ignition.
Manually lock drivers door using the other key.
Press and hold unlock button.
Manually unlock and lock drivers door whilst keeping button pressed.
Release unlock button.
Switch off ignition and remove key.
Remote should now work as normal.
