I have found my first niggle today, not rattle related.

When trying to open the drivers door from inside. It does not release and feels like you have deadlocks on, which I do not.

It did finally open & let me out. On closing the door again I could hear the door solenoid & again could not open the door inside.

Sounds like a new door motor, which is rubbish for a car 12 mths old & little use due to COVID.

If you could get a fault code report on the convince system it would be interesting but Audi won't hand it over for warranty work.

Thanks Crasher,

Long time no speak!

Car is booked in next Friday for starter/alternator recall & they will cover the door lock issue under warranty FOC

Used the car a fair bit this week & zero issues.

Guessing it was due to 7 mths lack of use & cold weather. TBH, I have only put fuel in 3 times this year.

Will get them to simply carry out the recall work only.

Picked the car up & they did a check on the car. Zero faults shown.

They did a reflash of SW for drivers door & said my car was 2nd one this week with the same fault I reported.

Had the car throw a central locking error yesterday. Firstly it flashed up a message saying you could not open a door while the vehicle was moving (or something to that effect) then I got the following message

When I got home the car was okay for me to lock with the remote and today the error has gone. Recently the front passenger outside door handle has shown a reluctance to fully return after opening the door, so wonder if that is why it thought someone was opening the door whilst the car was moving. Will add it to the list when it goes in for service.

I’ve seen this error message twice on my car, I thought it was because I had been overzealous with the key fob when trying to unlock the rear doors. Last time it happened was in the summer.

Hi
Mine did the same last year - it comes and goes intermittently, a software update fixed it completely.

In the cold weather over the weekend on 2 occasions I opened the car to start the engine and turn on the front and rear screen demisters while I removed the snow and ice from the windows. Having shut the drivers to do the windows I was then unable to reopen the door to get back in. At first I thought I had managed to lock the car, but the other doors (I could open see my other post) were unlocked. After repeated attempts and using the switch on the front passenger door to lock and unlock the car I finally managed to open the door. Let’s hope it is a sw issue aggravated by the cold weather.

Touch wood mine does seem fixed. But noticed on closing the door last Friday I could hear the door motor. I instanlty tried to open the door & it was not locked and opened as normal.

I do now have it in the back of my mind & must admit I have lost a bit of confidence in the car.
