Hello I have an A3 with the electronic air-conditioning control panel. This stopped working recently and now continually blows the fuse when replaced. Has anyone had similar problems?

sounds like it could be an earthing problem, do you have any extra Ice in the area sharing any power or earth cables??

No its all completely standard, the fuse blows the moment the ignition is turned on.

Sounds like a earthing prob to me, the fuse is must going as a saftey trip just as it the compressor kicks in, do you know if this happens when its on Econ mode? If not it must be the actually A/C system rather than the actual unit in the dash. I think you should get it tested electronically by volkswagen group garage.

Thanks, it looks like i will have to do that. Do the A3 have a diagnostic interface do you know?

Hi...I was wondering if anyone has any information about problems with the Audi A3 Air Conditioning Compressor. I have a brand new A3, with 1500 miles, and the AC compressor needs to be replaced. The service manager at my dealer said she has seen a number of A3s with this problem. I also read in Motor Trend Road tests that when they tested the 2006 A3, they had to replace the compressor twice, but commented that it was most likely a fluke, related to their test car. Any thoughts?
