My car doesn't have the tech pack, but can i use the USB, and put a wireless pad in from Anker for example? Will it drain the batteries?

I believe the USB ports are only powered when the ignition is switched on so a wireless charging pad shouldn’t drain the battery if you leave it plugged in I expect.

The question for me would be, does a wireless charging pad require any additional current over a standard USB charging phone?

Think the usb sockets are non live when ignition off. So should work fine..

I was hoping someone on the forum can try it out before i purchase one! Good to know they are not live once the ignition is off.

I have a couple of the wireless pads at home. They are both marked as input 2 amps and output 1 amp. This is not that great a load. Works fine in the car. Cost 5 quid or so.
