Folks
I have a set of VW accessory roofbars for a MkIV Golf (4-dr) on loan from a good friend. Sadly I have , er, mislaid the keys. Fortunately the bars are not on the car.
I am really struggling to (a) either to get a new key or (b) replace the lock barrel and housing.
So far I have tried a VW dealership in Glasgow who said they could not find a parts number, and several key specialists. All resulted in blanks.
There is a key number stamped on each barrel. It is NO88R or N088R.
Right now I am staring a new set of roof bars in the face at c.£130.
Is there anyone to find out definitely if the barrel housing is available as a spare? Or has anyone any suggestions.
