mk3 golf cl 1.9 td (not tdi) tuning help!!

hi all,
i need some help!

what do i do to increase performance in my 1.9 td
is it possible to just bolt on a tdi turbo and ecu?
or does that need to much tinkering!

anybody know of sites that will help/ sell parts for the non tdi version!

i cant find any!

Might just be easier to get a 130PD engine and put that in? The 130 PD can be tuned to 180hp and 300lb/ft torque

No help there eh....just telling you to put another engine in :rolleyes:...Iv egot the same engine, I phoned Allard and TDi-tuning.co.uk, Allard said for £425 you'll get roughly 10-15hp more (which I think's sh 1t for the money), because to get to 170ish hp on their site you need a bigger turbo, diffirent exh ect ect.

Tdi tuning said they couldnt help...:(

Tuning the AAZ really is flogging a dead horse, that 10 ish BHP increase is from an intercooler and having done a few of these conversions I would say it isn’t worth the money involved. We have a TD as our works hack and it is standard. Going to a PD is a lot of work so I would suggest the easier option of a 110 TDI from an earlier Golf 4 and those can be brought up to 135-140 very easily. Failing that, buy a Golf 4 TDI, it would probably cost about the same as you would spend converting yours combined with what you would get selling yours. Sorry I couldn’t offer any more fun advice, the truth isn’t always palatable.
