Nothing in mine over 2000 miles but that’s with a brand new engine and turbo. My customers report virtually zero unless there is a problem. What are you using litres per 1000 miles?

17,000 Miles since last service and the dip stick level has never moved.

I now own an A6 1.9 TDI. Between 2002 and 2006 I drove an A6 1.8 TSE. Mileage was 67,000 in 2002 and 140,000 when I sold it. I couldn't fault anything other than the excessive oil consumption. I had to set the trip meter to remind me to top up the oil every 1000 miles. I was told that the oil seals could be the cause or possibly the turbo. I ended up just living with it, because it never got any worse and as one mechanic said to me, regularly buying a gallon of oil was cheaper that replacing oil seals or a turbo.

I have a 2008 2.0 TFSI Petrol Avant. 26,000 miles. I have put over 7 litres of oil in over the last 10,000 miles. (i.e. 1350 miles per litre) I'm having this investigated.

Less than 1 litre per 1000, end of story…

My C5 A6 1.8T used a litre of oil in the first 6000 miles, then not a drop after that, until I swapped it 75000 miles later for my first C6. In complete contrast, the C6 2.0TDi PD used a litre of oil every 3500 miles!

1.8 AEB. I use on average 150ml per 1000 miles. 62k on the clock and Castrol Edge 5/30. Long runs use less mostly due to no cold starts and under temp driving. Regards Peter

Use about a litre and a half for every 1000 miles, normally put in 5w30 but have been caught out at times and have to put in 10w40 which really flies out of it...

car has 100k on engine

That is way too much, I think your turbo seals have gone.

Not surprised everything else seems to be on it's last legs at the moment.

Changing oil and filter tomorrow so I'm going to keep an eye on it over the next few weeks to see exactly how bad it is.

Funny think is there's never a drop on the driveway

No, because it is burning it, not dropping it!
