1999 A8

Hi Guys
This is my first forum so go easy on me, im looking at buying a 1999 4.2 A8 with 79k,i have read the buying guide on audipages.com and its really good advice,however im confused about the cam belt change,one audi dealer said it was due at 75k and another said 80K,also do i have to ask for the water pump and tensioners to be changed or will they do that automatically?hope you can help me out on this:confused:

80,000 and water pump would not be repaced unless you request it and again the tensioner is your choice but i advise you replace them at the same time.

wow that was quick,thanks for the advice,im not an expert on cars ut it seemed to drive ok no strange noises,smooth drive and the bodywork was in good nick,hopefully ill have no dramas with it

having the cam belt done on my '02 S8 at the moment plus fox impact damage to front skirt and nearside fog mount :zx11:.

As A8 tech said, you need to ask. The garage doing mine are not audi but found out how to do the job (front end off), and what was required, and quoted accordingly. All in for £600 inc VAT. Damage a different matter but won't go there.
