My 2002 130TDi passat has an Allard egr bypass.
The engine performs well except that shortly after moving off from a cold start it will stop when the car is slowed ; but restart immediately. This happens a couple of times during the first few of minutes driving, then performs faultlessly for the rest of the journey.
Is there a way to turn off the EGR in the software?
My other thoughts are that the coolant temperature sensor could be faulty, affecting the way the engine is fuelled when cold. The car has 2 sensors, 1 in the radiator bottom hose and the 2nd at the back of the cylinder head. Is there a way to check these using VAG COM?
Do the glow plugs switch off immediately at engine start or do they stay on until the engine reaches a certain temperature?

Thanks in advance
