Hello,
I'll start off by saying I have been researching recently about racing a 1.8t car, they seem the best choice for both a cheap base car, yet still having excellent tunability. In this regard, I only care about raw, round a track performance. And I will also add, sadly, the series' I'm looking at all require 2WD, so the S3 is out of the running:(
So, the cars I am currently interested in are the A3 (non-quattro, AGU engine) or the Leon Cupra R (BAM engine).
The questions I have are as follows:
1) If I put the bigger K04 turbo on the A3, then a remap, could I expect BAM engine levels of power?
2) I know the Audi is significantly lighter, so does it have more overall potential?
3) How much abuse can the five speed transmission take? Is the six speed in the LCR much better?
I know it is all a bit of a long shot...
