K&N filters

I will try again with the more power thread. Has anyone used a K&N filter, flat panel or induction kit in an Audi A3 1.8 20V 2000 model. If you did, did you notice any gains in power, performance or fuel economy ?? :1zhelp:

I fitted a K & N panel filter to a 1.8T Leon Cupra I had, BAD MISTAKE! as the filter is close to the MAF sensor (or Air flow meter) it "sucked" the oil from the filter, which in turn burnt out my MAF semsor:( took it out straight away....

My advise is to leave the standard filter in, I did not notice any difference in the filter from the standard, just cost me anoth £50 to rectify the fault..

Thanks alot for that, I'll just stick with a vag panel unit or look at a 57i unit. Ta
