hello,

i have just bought a 2000 1.6 golf mk4. there is a problem with the microswitch on the front passenger door. when i open it, the interior lights and door light do not come on, yet all the other doors work.

on other cars you can see the switch near the hinge of the door, play with it and itll start working. im struggling to find the microswitch on these doors so i can spray some wd40 in it.

i have found some threads concerning this issue, but couldnt find one that is descriptive on which part to use wd40 on.

if anyone can give me some pointers it would be much appreciated, also if you have any better ideas than wd40.. please share :p

when i lock the car using my button on the drivers door, the whole car locks and the passenger door unlocks straight away. i presume this is all due to the microswitch.. ??

thanks in advance
