Hi i am very interested in the Audi A3 2.0 tdi and i was just wondering are there any common faults that are expensive to fix (over £150). I have currently got a 51 plate VW golf 1.4 and wow what a headache the gearbox went dat cost me £1100 then the clutch went (£110), the heater dials don't light up at night i do not want the same hassle twice i cant afford it lol, any advice and knowledge would be very helpful oh and does anyone know where i could get cheap insurance for the Audi from because i am currently getting stupid quotes like £2,500

I have the this car. Bought 2nd hand from dealer in January. Not had any problems so far. Car is running well.

As for insurance - try swiftcover.com or one of the comparison sites (confused.com / gocompare.com)

Not sure how old you are but that might be a reason quotes are so high.

If there is anything in particular you want to know, drop me a PM. I'm not very knowledgeable but I might be able point you in the right direction.

Go on the DVLA and check car on this link if its 150g/km then its a 140bhp and if its the 154g/km you have the 170bhp.

I found this out by going on Autotrader and inputting vin No's on the DVLA and all the 170 had the 154g/km and yes you guest it all the 140's where the 150....

happy hunting :biglaugh:
