Hi forum members,

I've just ordered a 35 TFSI 150PS engine for my new A5 Sportback S Line through a leasing company but I had reservations about getting this over the 40 TFSI 190PS. It just so happened this one was already built and I had a hard deadline to swap over from my company car.

I'm aware it's not exactly going to push you back into your seat on heavy throttle but I'm hoping it's going to have reasonably brisk acceleration and not feel too underpowered.

I had originally thought this might be a lower capacity engine like the 1.4TFSI in the A4 but it's actually a 2L engine detuned to 150PS so I think that might be a positive. 0-60 is 9.1 but of course 0-60 isn't the whole picture...torque...etc.

Has anyone got any experience of this and can re-assure me? It's not too late to swap over (for a fee) but the 40 TFSI is also higher on Insurance as I'm facing the prospect of coming off company car insurance with no NCB so policy is pricey!

Thanks,

Mark

Not exactly the same engine, but a discussion here on low power engines in the A5. It might be worth posting on that forum, it’s much more popular than this one!
