Hey Gavin,

Congrats on the car, great choice!

I have a little but the good news in some of the systems in the Q8 share the (pretty much) same components as the Q7 4M so you will find things in the coding thread on the Q7 forum could well work and be the same for the Q8 4N

I havent had a chance to test that in practice yet but having looked at some scans of Q8's in "theory" some should work. Proof is in the pudding!

In terms of coding, if you stick with something like ODBEleven or invest a little more in something like a Genuine VCDS dongle you can't go majorly wrong.

Don’t believe it’s available on Audi, however I could be wrong.

I hardly use CarPlay now as prefer the two phone connection over Bluetooth. CarPlay defo has its plus points but having the personal and work phone prefer the normal Bluetooth.

Just did my first change and it's working.

I want the parking brake to come on when the car is turned off.

I went to 03-ABS Brakes, first thing I did was go to Security Access and use the code 40168. Then I went to Adaption found Automatic Parking Brake in the list and change the value from Not Active to Active.

Afternoon - I have recently bought a 9 month old Q8 Vorsprung and despite the claims of it being the everything edition I am surprised that trailer assist on the factory towbar and park assist are not enabled. I am a resonably capable retrofitted with VCDS HEX V2 and VCP and have done, soft close, kessy, speed limit & lane assist on my wife's A6 4G. For the Q8 it looks like VCDS label files are the "at your own risk" flavour. Has anyone looked at either of these or could share a scan on a Q7 or Q8 with either. My initial scan brought up a lot of faults but shared below for interest, now cleared most of them but still looks like a dealer trip to fix some of the more persistent ones.

I have ordered the direct tyre pressure receiver which will be my first upgrade. This seems to be reasonably well documented.

No, I’m not in UK, neither in France, but in Eastern Europe. Anyway if there is an interest of adaption /long coding setting for wireless Audi Smartphone interface and 5g wifi in concerned CU (5F) I could PM it to you.

I have a Touareg CR and an finding that the coding is extremely similar to 4N platforms of A6, Q7 & A8 thus far.

FYI..........I have enabled wireless CarPlay as well as done the following tweaks (if it helps and MLBEvo drivers)

So far nobody discovered the coding of Park Assist. The only solution which works is Kufatec set.

I enquired with Kufatec, it appears the kit available (43430) contains the switch (AI) and coding dongle but no wiring harness, given the switch can be bought for just over !00 Euros the kit looks expensive at 729 Euros !

No any wiring harness is needed. Yes, it is pricey but codings and adaptations for this system are very complicated. It is not the change of 3-4 bits. Probably Audi would ask also high price if it would be available as an option for MY2020.

Thanks Retom I agree with your sentiments on what Audi would charge. Interesting I have just looked at their configurator and in the UK it appears to be standard on the current build for Vorsprung model (Top UK spec) and an option on the other models when you add the comfort & sound packs which are £2295 ($2900)
