 Another query, since you were all so helpful last time!
Same 93 jetta, battery died and radio went into SAFE mode. I know that it has to be reset with a code and that the dealer can take care of it, but I found a code with a date 04 (previous owner?). I tried but nothing happened: pushed mode and the one below (sorry, I'm at home and don't remember, but it is a standard setup for old radios) at the same time, then SAFE started blinking. Inserted sequence of numbers, SAFE stopped blinking, pushed the two buttons again. Voila'... same as before. Obviously I'm doing something wrong...
Happened to anyone else? is there something I can do? I hate to take the car to the local dealer, lots of time waiting...
Thanks in advance!!
Roberta

It all depends on what type of radio you have??????

No brand name, just VW Stereo printed on it. Old, cassette player, with possible D remote changer (never had a CD player installed). That's all I could see, as I said I don't have the owner's manual.
Does anyone have same model car with original stereo?
Thanks for all the help.
