So on my 65 plate audi a4 the steering rack was damaged due to hitting a curb really hard. Was alright at first the steering rack broke so went to a vw specialist who told me that I can use a few racks which I purchased on of the net and fitted now the car drives absolutely fine just the light is still on I took it back to a audi specialist to 're adjust and has told me I need a new rack module as the fault is still in mine.

You really need to scan the steering rack and find out what its complaining about. Agreed there is a few racks you can use, but you really need to be sure the rack is the correct one to the car as there is variations depending on equipment level, etc. Lets assume you have the correct one and the module is indeed cream crackered. I believe the module is attached to the rack and looks like a glorified relay which is why it might be complaining because its been coded for a different car. You need someone with a VCDS to look at the coding and fault.
